When you are a little kid, you are better bit of everything - artist, scientist, athlete, scholar. Sometimes, it seems is like a process of giving those things up, one by one. I guess we all have one thing we regret giving up. One thing we really miss. And we gave up because we were too lazy. We couldn't stick it out. Or because we were afraid.- Wonder Years

The War At Home March 27th, 2009
The Russians sank a Hong Kong freighter last month, killing the seven Chinese seamen on board. We can live with that—Lenin and Stalin were once the ideological mentors of all Chinese people. The Japanese planted a flag on Diàoyú Island. That’s no big problem—we Hong Kong Chinese love Japanese cartoons, Hello Kitty, and shopping in Shinjuku, let alone our round-the-clock obsession with karaoke.
But hold on—even the Filipinos? Manila has just claimed sovereignty over the scattered rocks in the South China Sea called the Spratly Islands, complete with a blatant threat from its congress to send gunboats to the South China Sea to defend the islands from China if necessary. This is beyond reproach. The reason: there are more than 130,000 Filipina maids working as $3,580-a-month cheap labor in Hong Kong. As a nation of servants, you don’t flex your muscles at your master, from whom you earn most of your bread and butter.
As a patriotic Chinese man, the news has made my blood boil. I summoned Louisa, my domestic assistant who holds a degree in international politics from the University of Manila, hung a map on the wall, and gave her a harsh lecture. I sternly warned her that if she wants her wages increased next year, she had better tell every one of her compatriots in Statue Square on Sunday that the entirety of the Spratly Islands belongs to China.
Grimly, I told her that if war breaks out between the Philippines and China, I would have to end her employment and send her straight home, because I would not risk the crime of treason for sponsoring an enemy of the state by paying her to wash my toilet and clean my windows 16 hours a day. With that money, she would pay taxes to her government, and they would fund a navy to invade our motherland and deeply hurt my feelings.
Oh yes. The government of the Philippines would certainly be wrong if they think we Chinese are prepared to swallow their insult and sit back and lose a Falkland Islands War in the Far East. They may have Barack Obama and the hawkish American military behind them, but we have a hostage in each of our homes in the Mid-Levels or higher. Some of my friends told me they have already declared a state of emergency at home. Their maids have been made to shout “China, Madam/Sir” loudly whenever they hear the word “Spratly.” They say the indoctrination is working as wonderfully as when we used to shout, “Long live Chairman Mao!” at the sight of a portrait of our Great Leader during the Cultural Revolution. I’m not sure if that’s going a bit too far, at least for the time being. =====

I can't get to sleep I think about the implications Of diving in too deep And possibly the complications Especially at night I worry over situations I know I'll be alright Perhaps it's just imagination Day after day it reappears Night after night my heartbeat shows the fear Ghosts appear and fade away Come back another day

I spent the ENTIRE afternoon (alone) at the Cebu Pacific office in Galleria. I was there 12pm, after getting my service number - 664, the guard called out customer number 556. I had to wait for 4 hours for my turn only to find out that changing the time of my sister's flight to Palawan from 315pm to 830am would cost 1,770 (from th expected P560). Then, I had to wait for another hour for my mom since the money i had wasnt enough.
Ended a bad day with Twilight at Trinoma. Benta though minsan disturbing ang audience sa movie house, rinig mo yung pagka kilig nila with the scenes especially the 2 girls that were between me and my sister, minsan nagco-cover ng mukha sa pagka kilig.

For the past few days I am always with dad, either at home or the hospital. The help and support we have been getting are very overwhelming especially from his colleagues in Ltfrb that someone even told us some of them are thinking of doing a fund-raising project. Good thing too that the doctors are close friends of my dad's brother.
(After being confined twice this month) he'll be confined tomorrow in Heart Center for an Angiogram to confirm if there are blocked arteries seen from previous tests. Scheduled for saturday morning and possibly straight to a Coronary Angioplasty. (These are known procedures but then an Aangioplasty is still considered to be a major operation since it deals with the heart and 1 in every 1000 goes critical in an Angiogram and 1 in every 100 for the angioplasty because of possible complications according to Dr.Tria).
I rarely ask for favors, but please, if you get to read this, please say a prayer for my dad. Thank you.

Nakakalungkot yung story.
Sobrang walang respeto na sa patay yung nangyari but then wala silang magagawa kasi wala silang pera.

When i received a text message from kiel, i actually had to read it twice. Called Chubby, then Ivy, plus Jb girl, Kat then si Missy naman. At first I wanted to know Mon's landline number, but eventually decided not to since everyone had been asking him about it, on what happened to ruby's dad. I wanted to confirm if it was true.
Ruby's father died today and they said he had an accident in Bukidnon. I feel so sad about it, while talking to some people on the phone hindi ko mapigilang umiyak. How short life can be, how you've never expected not to see a love one come back from a Business trip. Bunso si Ruby, very close to her family to her parents, the only girl, her dad's favorite.

While on our way to starbucks for the interview with a Barista around 7:30pm, 3 minutes after we left the parking lot nagmura na si Ivy. yun pala, she suddenly realized her SIDE MIRRORS were gone. To think na her car was less than 2 months i think. I remember ganun din si Porter, same parking lot, BIO, nanakaw din yung side mirrors and after that Banaue kagad then after 2 weeks nawala ulit. But then again, bago lang ang sasakyan ni Ivs. - * -
Ive made this list of the things to do before i turn 22 and one of those is to organize a reunion for 4-2. Dinner. After leaving messages through friendster and Ym ive learned that one is already based in Cebu, then aside from 2 people who've migrated, may nadagdag pa pala. 10 pa lang nagconfirm for 28, kumusta naman ang 40 sa class, 6 have already confirmed they cant make it. Last time i saw most of my classmates was grad ball. haha, after 5-6 years. Tapos bigla ako nakuwentuhan ni Alyds na when somome organized a 4-8 Dinner, mga 10 lang daw pumunta. Please Lord dont let that happen to me.
- * - Even though i havent watched transformers, at least Ive seen Harry Potter. I so love Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch portrayed the character well)..Cant wait for the next film And the last Book. thanks ulit lei :) - * - And..haha, i just remembered, Nancy the new chicklet (who' also a friend of my sister) owns Flaming Wings.aaaaahh..Wicked Oreos!!

Yesterday was my first day of tutoring (and after that i texted ms.jo that id rather have a student in qc than in alabang, that i cant make it till thursday since alabang is really Reaaaally far, well she told me naman that i should give it a try and i did)
Anyway, my student Peter Angelico is grade 5 from lasalle zobel (although he only transferred there 2 years ago and was originally a lsgh boy). When we were at the science part, and were reveiwing about testes, epididymis..etc and their functions/definitions. when i asked him about circumcision.. "Miss why should you ask me that? i havent been even circumcised yet!" (although pa joke naman sinabi, but still)
And then we did advance lessons on the reproductive system "Miss how do parents make babies?" "my teacher didnt tell me, she told us to ask our parents"...ayoko na sabihin how i answered it, kayo? how would you answer that question to a 10 year old kid?

"Ma si ate rica, ate rica mommy ko. Ma, siya yung parang mommy ko sa Pugad" aww.thanks mario, although parang mas naramdaman ko kung gano ako katanda, but proud akong son kita ;) The party last night was fun, went home around 2am. Haha, Unexpected things happened, iba na talaga ang trip ng Pugad.hahaha Madaling magpadala sa tukso?haha It was fun chatting with Mario's ate, Michelle. she was also from Miriam, pink batch din although older batch. We talked about old Miriam days, teachers to buildings.haha Naabutan niya kami ni char and jeejay in her room watching the last minutes of Pbb's big night. Aliw tingnan ang family photo albums nila Mario, he's cute, and VERY chubby. madami din natakot like Josh and jeejay who saw the hand behind the door sa dulo ng room sa kitchen.haha Their reactions were very funny ;p 2 glasses of picoy's drink, 3 shots of tequila and a shot of grand matador. Last time i drank alcohol was in Bicol though that time, controlled pa yung kilos since my parents were around. But last night ramdam ko na umiikot ang paligid and had to cling on to someone (and thank you jingo for the cup of ice) or sit in the sala for some time, after that Okay na ako. Hindi naman ako sobrang lasing for me not to know what's happening around me at magspill ng mga hindi dapat sabihin.hahaha

1-maganda ang view, parang pang postcard 2-kahit maitim, sumama for the sake of camera 3-haha 4-Rachel Lobangco, she's really nice.gave us-the chosen few-drinks according to her was mixed by her friend. Actually we weren't sure if she was an actress until the next day. 5-That's Drew from England who works in Makati (and so i know) Guy na gay that we met just that night who actually liked Von's brother. Part of the conversation - "What's his name?" "He's Paolo" "Paolo's so beautiful, (looking at Paolo) Let's dance!" 6-same with 2
It was my second time in Boracay at MAS nag enjoy ako. we were 51, LTFRB office outing (employees and their families) if it werent for some people na nagpilit na maaga umuwi, weds pa sana balik sa manila. So i was there from 28 to 30.
Going there since office outing ito ang murang way para makapunta ng Bora. (although because of "contacts" yung mga bus ni rent) Lipa City to Batangas Pier - 30 minutes (but coming from Manila baka 3 hrs) Roro (Batangas to Mindoro) - 2 1/2 hours Bus to Roxas Occidental Mindoro - 2 1/2 hours Roro (Mindoro ro Caticlan, Aklan) - 5 hours Bangka toBoracay- 15 minutes Tric/Multicab - around 15 minutes din, depends on the station na magpapababa ka
I had a Massage - it costs 300-350 pesos pero dahil cindy and i used our charm, 200 na lang. Banana Boat - it costs 150 pesos (But since cousin ni tito daryl yung owner ng Gasthof and maraming kakilala, 100 per head na lang); There's a strict rule in Boracay na bawal magpataob ng banana boat and may fine na P10,000 since there had been an accident Magstroll - kahit mainit masaya.haha Naiimagine ko na kung suot ko yung strapless slippers wala sigurong mark yung mga paa ko. While strolling i saw Richel from Psych and Bianca from Mchs and some celebrities. Swim - on the last day nagswim ng tanghaling tapat
May island hopping packages (though hindi na kami sumama dahil ginawa na namin yun dati) i think it costs 300 per person but if you have the chance, try having lunch at Puka Grande in Puka Beach.
Boracay is better now than last time i was there (2003) kasi yung tourists sa likod na dumadaan (kaya you have to take a tric) hindi na sa beach side (so wala ng mga nakaharang na bangka when you swim). Plus i must say na mas malinis na din siya this time.
There were a lot of events while we were there like Rudy Project - hosted a rowing competition, and yung cottage namin katapat yung cottage ng DLSU Dragonboat Rowing Team. Lifestyle Network hosted a party and had Sitti as their guest. Smart hosted a Bamboo concert. Century Tuna Beach Bods. San Miguel Body Builders. One Tea Party and Sam Oh was their host that night and the event is going to be feautured on ETC's Rated Oh next sunday 10 pm and i saw myself at their commercial dancing and showing a One bottle.
We stayed at Villa Mare in station2 and ang babait nung mga caretakers.
Night Life. For the FIRST time umuuwi ako ng madaling araw. first night was 3am then the next night 4am. Sheesh. I was with the sons/daughters of my dad's officemates so medyo napayagan ako lumabas ng gabi not knowing what time we're coming back. I dont drink beer so halos nagtry lang ng ladies drinks though yung iba pinapaubos ko sa mga kasama ko (like margarita and kamikazee, take note im the oldest).
Places we've partied..haha Hey Jude - One white tea Party event was held, we were the first group to dance so we had 5 free beers (tequila dapat) Paraw - Saw Popot.haha Okay din magsayaw dito although the night i was there parang naging "chillout" place
Try: Coco Mangas - 18 years old and above lang dapat. They're known for their 15 shots. Summer Place - just stayed outside for a few minutes dahil sobrang daming tao as in kahit sa ibabaw ng bar may nagsasayaw Best for Me : Plazoleta - kahit na madaming foreigners, for the 2 nights that we were there lagi kaming nandito.haha Party kung party.Sayaw kung Sayaw.haha Even if it was 3am grabe pa din sa dami ng tao.

nagkaron ng stroke si lola ng wednesday night (after that, nagkaron ng bleeding sa tiyan niya because of her ulcer.). Thursday, by ambulance from a hospital in Nueva Vizcaya nilipat siya sa capitol medical center at kahapon lang siya ng gabi nilabas from IMCU (she had two more blood transfusion). While she was staying at IMCU kumuha na muna kami ng room para nakaready yung lilipatan niya.
What's weird is that while waiting outside IMCU (na katapat ng elevator) biglang nakita ko si mam CANTILLER. Yung mother pala niya na confine that morning kasi nagkaron daw ng tremor because of diabetis. So okay na, nung pabalik na ako sa room namin, katabi pala namin yung room nila (sa tapat ng room namin may door, nasa right side sila nung door na yun). And then nagkuwentuhan ulit tapos sabi niya hinahanap daw niya yung room nung husband ni mam MENDOZA yun pala katabi lang ng room nila (at yun yung door na katapat namin). Missy was also at capitol yesterday kasi yung friend niya andun din.
